Buildings
Judith Weinshall Liberman
In early spring 2023, not long after my 94th birthday, I decided to take a break from painting various series of flowers, and to paint a series on an architectural subject. I was glad to find a stencil of city buildings, which I thought I could use to paint a night scene, with the colors of the buildings and their lit up windows contrasting with the black background of my canvas. I am no stranger to creating artworks about architectural subjects. Throughout my art career, I enjoyed painting cityscapes as well as interiors. Although now that I no longer have the eye-hand coordination I once had, and therefore had to use a stencil to paint this series, I still derived great pleasure from creating it.
